This is part of our series to help you get to know the staff at Pocock. Isn’t it nice to put a face with the name when you call the shop? Dave is our customer service pro. When you call or email, he’s probably the one you’ll get. Plus he packs up all the parts orders and gets them to you in time for practice.
Dave rejoined the Pocock team in March 2010 after a two-year stint as the public information officer at a local college. He previously worked at Pocock as a boat builder for five years, learning all aspects of building our composite racing shells.
Before that, he spent more than 10 years as a public and media relations professional. Companies he worked for included MulvannyG2 Architecture, Windermere Real Estate (where he helped manage the public relations for the annual Windermere Cup regatta) and the Seattle SuperSonics.
Dave rowed for Seattle’s Green Lake Crew in his senior year of high school, helping his lightweight eight win a gold medal at the 1986 U.S. national championships. He also rowed for four years at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington in the late 80′s and has been an avid sculler for many years. His dad, Dave Haworth Sr., rowed for Cornell University and was a long-time masters rower in the Seattle area.
Dave grew up on Puget Sound’s scenic Whidbey Island and has lived in the Pacific Northwest ever since. In his spare time, Dave loves to hit the ski slopes or the mountain bike trails and then a local pub for a pint or two (which of course completely negates all the exercise!).

Dave,
We’re looking at the Pocock Racing Sandals and think we like what we see. Any chance you could let us purchase a demo pair at a discount so we could see what our members think? One other manufacturer offered this deal for their type fhoe for this reason. Thought I’d ask.
Thanks!
