We offer three stock footwear options when you’re ordering a new Pocock Racing Shell:
Racing sandals only come in two sizes, but the lacing system does a good job of getting a tight fit even on smaller feet. They’re ideal for boats that are being rowed by many different rowers with lots of different sized feet. Worried about your feet getting cold or wet? Pick up a pair of neoprene socks from your local outdoor store – they’re a great compliment. To see more pictures of the racing sandals, check out this previous blog post.
Price per pair: $80
The rowing shoes are great if you don’t need to fit lots of different sized feet in the same shoes, or if you have the luxury of stocking many different size shoes to fit your rowers. Most people who purchase boats for private use purchase shoes in their exact size for the best fit.
Price per pair: $60
We also offer the C2 Flexfoot assembly – it’s just like the strap and heel cup set up you’ll find on a Concept2 erg. This is a great, low-cost option for boats that will see lots of different rowers. They’re typically used in learn to row and novice boats since they offer the greatest flexibility. (Please note that the flexfoot assembly uses a different footboard than the shoes and sandals, so it’s not easily interchangeable.)
Price per pair: $35
Many boathouses stock a combination of both shoes and sandals in a range of sizes – since they use the same footboard assembly, they are easily interchangeable. Simply unscrew the nuts that hold the footplate onto the footboard, and move from one seat to the next. The flexfoot assembly does not use the same footboard, so it’s not interchangeable.

If you have your eye some other sort of footwear – like the Nike Amado Rowing Shoes or Adidas Rowing Shoes – just let us know and we’ll see what we can do to make it work. We also offer Bat Logic’s BioFit footplates and CustomPack shim kits.
